This Post is Sponsored in Part by Singapore Airlines and Virgin America

Remember when you were a kid and one of the most exciting things in the world was getting on a plane? It was magical because it combined both the thrill of going somewhere far away and of actually flying (every kid's dream). It's sad, though, when you grow older and flights lose some of their charm after endless transfers, delays, and jet lag. When I was younger, I thought the traveling businessmen sitting in my aisles were the happiest, luckiest people on/above earth, but now I just want to buy them an on board cocktail.

Fortunately for all, big luxury airplanes like Singapore Airlines' A380 come along and pamper us weary adults into liking flying again. I took a Singapore Airlines flight to Seoul once and it was incredible: amazing food and service (the flight attendant in the lovely dress sure could mix a mean pineapple spritzer), very comfortable seats and interior, and more in-seat movies than you could shake a stick at. Yet the idea of lounging in my own room aboard a double-decker mammoth of a jet and watching a movie on a wide screen TV while finishing off my dinner makes me a bit giddy. When I fly to Sydney, that will be the way to go, yessir.

It's good to see Virgin America bringing a bit of that magic stateside as well, perked further by their great fares. Here's to hoping they branch out to SLC sometime soon in the future.

I was shooting the breeze with a gentleman on my last flight in September. He was singing the praises of JetBlue. Now, I'm sure JetBlue has got nothing on Singapore, but I'm curious to know if you've ever found yourself on a JetBlue flight, and if so, would you recommend it?

I haven't but I hear their flights are pretty nice. I'll have to check it out someday.
