Sorry, internet: I'm just rubbish at consistency.

Well, we had a good run there, ol' sport. I knew that my final semesters in the education program would keep me busy, along with wanting to spend any free minutes with Jenn, so it looks like this here's the end of the road. Or perhaps the blog will magically come back to life one day like that scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when they first spot the smoke billowing from the smokestack. That'll be fun. Maybe in the summer when two teachers just don't know what to do with themselves.

Until then, thanks for reading, and perhaps we'll keep somewhat updated on our going-ons on the other blog.

It makes sense to me: birthdays are fun and cruises are fun. Where else can you eat like a king all hours of the day and night, play shuffleboard, and have towels that remind you you're on a "fun ship"?

Unfortunately, having a birthday in September means you're already re-stuck in a classroom and too poor to take off on a cruise. I appreciate the offer anyway, carnival.com. And I admire the way the towels are folded like animals when you come back into your stateroom.

Latest Obsessions

I'm many months late, but I finally saw and loved Sweeney Todd. Everything about it was just right and I think I actually prefer the actors' singing to the Broadway folks.

Next up, Crystal Castles. Again I'm a step behind the latest thing, but the electronic brilliance just clicked with me last week in a wonderful way, striking the right (keyboard) chord. I've been anxiously waiting for that to happen with a new band since it appears Mylo is never going to make another album.

Finally, I'm completely gung-ho and heart aflame for LOST again. What a great season! There are still so many questions to be answered,
but I'm rejuvenated to hang in there. And I told you Sawyer has a heart of gold. And I would really love if Penny and Desmond had a spinoff show.

Have you met Silje Nes? She released a lovely album in December which I am now fully appreciating since the music perfectly matches the mellow evening outside.

Home Again

I'm tired. After three weeks of fun and adventure, it's been a tad hard to come back a few days ago to work and jet lag. But it's been worth it. I say this after every year's vacation, but this one was tops. Seriously amazing and worth every pretty yen/penny/won.

It's intimidating to try to whittle down over 600 pictures and stories into cohesive and interesting blog posts, but I guess I should try to attempt it since I don't keep a journal and this is the best thing I have to remind me of the good times when I'm 64. Until then, here's a slideshow that Rebecca compiled and captioned that sums it up nicely until I start to fill in the details here later.

I'll be in Japan and Korea for the next few weeks, so the blog will be on vacation as well.
