Snow Day

To a small kid and even a tired college kid, the words are magical: "Classes have been canceled today due to snow." Whoo! I'm stayin' in pajamas! I'm making pancakes and then watching TV and going back to bed! But first, I guess I should shovel the walk...
But what's this? Some kind soul has snowplowed our driveway and sidewalks! I'm stayin' in pajamas! Viva secret do-gooders! Now I can make some tea and look at the icicles outside the kitchen window.

And then I can contemplate like every day how the snow piled on the table on the deck looks like a gigantic cake.

But today I actually have time to cut a huge slice of the cake to enjoy with my tea. Mmmm.

So even though it's the dead of winter outside, inside I feel like this:

You know a snow day is special if it is blogged about on the same day by two or more witnesses--you can look that up; it's scripture. That sketch on your page, though, reminded me that I still haven't posted the sketch thingy we got at Chuck E. Cheese.
